Frequently Asked Questions
General
I support students and families through the decision-making process, rather than telling them what school or program they should choose. During our sessions, we look at options together, review requirements, and talk through considerations like pathways, timelines, and fit. My goal is to help students feel informed and confident in making their own decisions.
It’s never too early to start thinking about what comes after high school. Many families begin in Grade 11 so they can explore options, understand requirements, and make informed course selections for Grade 12. Those choices can impact when, and sometimes whether, students receive offers from institutions. I also work with Grade 12 students who need support with applications, decisions, or financial planning. Even if timelines feel tight, there is always a way to create a clear, manageable path forward.
It depends on which session you are booking.
Power Hour Parent Sessions are designed specifically for parents/caregivers who are looking to better understand timelines, financial considerations (OSAP, RESPs, budgeting), and how to support their child through the process.
Bounce Sessions are ideal for both families and their student(s), as we work through questions, next steps, and the overall transition together.
If you’re uncertain about which option is right for you, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help you determine what will work best.
For one-on-one sessions, you’re welcome to bring:
Questions or areas where you’re feeling unsure
Any schools, programs, or pathways you’ve been exploring
Report cards or transcripts (if available)
Financial questions (RESPs, OSAP, budgeting)
Ahead of your session, I’ll also send a short intake form to gather some background information and help us make the most of our time together.
For group sessions, nothing is required, though you may wish to have a notebook and pen handy to jot down key information.
If you’re not sure what to bring, that’s okay too. Our session can help identify next steps.
For one‑on‑one sessions, families can choose the format that works best for them: either in‑person or virtual.
This flexibility ensures the experience is convenient, comfortable, and tailored to your needs.
I also host both in‑person and virtual events each month!
Feel free to check out my Events page for upcoming opportunities.
